2015 Women’s Conference Cultivating a Heart of Contentment

Missy Mehringer (see below for full speaker bio) is teaching from God’s Word on Cultivating a Heart of Contentment. In a world that teaches us to be discontent with all of life and to always be searching for the newest fads, the Bible calls us to something different. As the apostle Paul learned to be content, so too can we by the grace of God. “…for I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am” (Philippians 4:11).

Thank you all for a great conference! If you were not able to make it, or you would like to listen to the messages again, you can download them below.

Missy and her husband Ray Mehringer, who is Dean of Students, have been at The Master’s Seminary for 17 years. Missy co-leads the Seminary Wives Discipleship program and has been a small group leader for 15 years. She loves the women and the opportunity to mentor young wives in their relationships to their husband and family and in their preparation for being a ministry wife. During 18 years in the Air Force, Ray and Missy also worked with young adults doing engagement counseling and ministering to young marrieds. They continue this with a “Sweethearts for a Lifetime” marriage study to newlywed seminary couples. At Grace Community Church, they are involved in Children’s Ministry where Ray supervises 2nd-hour Sunday School program, where they provide shepherding and oversight to the teachers.

The Mehringers, married 36 years and residing in Canyon Country, California, have four children: two married sons, and two married daughters. She and Ray enjoy much babysitting time as they welcomed their eleventh grandchild this December. Though retired from home-schooling (after 21 years), she likes to encourage young moms in that area. She enjoys walking, reading, and camping. Special to her heart is the alumni prayer program where seminary wives pray for spring TMS grads and their families in their first year of ministry.

Missy enjoys speaking/teaching at women’s church groups and retreats. Psalm 70:4 is a special verse to her, “Let all who seek You rejoice and be glad in You; And let those who love Your salvation say continually, ‘Let God be magnified.'”
