Sometimes I have to check my motives in praying, remembering this: Prayer is a means of getting ourselves doing the will of God, not our means of getting God to do the will of us. Like Jesus prayed in the Garden of Gethsemane, “Father, if You are willing, remove this cup from Me; yet not My will, but Yours be done” (Luke 22:42).
